Spring is such a beautiful time of the year in Clay County. The mountainsides spring to life with vibrant colors, making the area's beauty becomes even more apparent.
This is the perfect season to enjoy the walking trails around the community, the Friday night concerts at the John C. Campbell Folk School or take in one of the wonderful plays at our Peacock Playhouse. Some may enjoy the Saturday Night Cruise-in at Jacky Jones Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Dealership on the first Saturday of the month. Members of Classic Wheels Car Club meet together to enjoy their classic vehicles. Even if you don’t have a classic, but wish you did, come join the fun.
The beginning of May go to the Rhododendron Festival ten miles away in Hiawassee, Georgia at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds to enjoy Rhododendrons in full bloom. For more enjoyment, towards the middle of May, the Georgia Mountain Bluegrass Festival is held at the same location.
To close Spring out, make sure to go on the Mountain Adventure Artist’s Studio Tour during Memorial Day Weekend. It is a perfect way to see the area’s artistic talents.
For more information on things to see & do in the area, see the Calendar of Events.
